Hydrangeas are perennial flowers that originated from Japan. They popular as ornamental plants because of their large flowerheads. The name comes from the Greek 'hydro' meaning water and 'angeion' meaning vessel or jug.

Hydrangeas display big, round clusters of small flowers with woody stems and dark green large, oval leaves. Blooms can be blue, violet, white, pink, red or bi - colored. Hydrangeas can reach a height of 60 cm indoors.

Hydrangeas need moist soil, bright light and cool air. Soil should be kept evenly moist but do not overwater. These plants need around four hours of bright, indirect light during the day and kept at a cool to average temperature of 45 - 65°F.
